Recently, people have reported receiving deceptive e-mails claiming to be from Sumitomo Metals, Hiroshi Tomono, its Representative Director and President, other Representative Director or Director or Corporate Auditor, seeking people to serve as company representatives of Sumitomo Metals. These e-mails attempt to trick recipients into providing sensitive personal information such as their name, address and telephone number and/or making certain deposits or payments. This fraudulent practice is often called "phishing."
Please be advised that Sumitomo Metals never sends e-mails to potential company representatives requesting personal information.
