It is developed by adjustment of chemical composition and use of TMCP. Though it is carbon steel, its microstructure is complex, which substantially reduces fatigue crack propagation speed. It is expected to be broadly used for bridges, construction machines, etc. in addition to ship structures. Furthermore, it won the "Prize of The Society of Naval Architects of Japan for Fiscal 2003" and obtained a classification approval by a main ship class societies(YP36 and 40 class steels).
