EzWELD Steel Plate / EzWELD Wire
EzWELD Steel Plates and EzWELD Wires are new building structural steel plates and CO2 gas-shielded MAG welding wires which enable high-efficiency CO2 gas-shielded arc welding to be conducted with high heat input at high inter-pass temperature while they keep their excellent welding quality.

Feature 1. Wide product variations
EzWELD steel plates have two kinds of tensile strength, i.e., 490N/mm2 and 520N/mm2. Specification can be selected from SN standards, TMCP Steel Plates, and T-CRS Heavy-Duty H Sections. EzWELD wire is on a level equivalent to the old YGW18 standards (JIS Z 3312) in terms of strength. Products from 1.2~2.0mm in wire diameter are available.

Wide product variations
Note 1) EzWELD steel plates and EzWELD wires are manufactured by Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd. and Nippon Steel & Sumikin Welding Co., Ltd., respectively.
Note 2) T-DAC standards: TMCP steel plates for building structural use (Approval No. MSTL-9010) T-CRS standards: Heavy-duty H sections of 490N/mm2 and 520N/mm2 classes for building structural use (Approval No: MSTL-0086)

Feature 2. Expanded range of welding conditions
When EzWELD Steel Plates and EzWELD Wires are used in combination, welding conditions are eased, compared with the conditions applied in terms of heat input and inter-pass temperature in according to JIS Z 3312, YGW18.

Feature 3. Improved efficiency and reduced cost due to control-free operation
Use of EzWELD Steel Plates and EzWELD Wires enables welding work to be made remarkably efficient and economical because the number of passes and the wait time for inter-pass temperature can be reduced and the varying man-hours of control regarding welding conditions is lowered, where very often the situation becomes control-free. As a result, substantially efficient welding work and cost reductions can be realized.

Comparison of welding efficiency:
In the case of 25mm plate thickness (250mm wide)
In the case of 40mm plate thickness (250mm wide)
In the case of 25mm plate thickness (250mm wide)

Heat input (kJ/cm) 40 40~70
Inter-pass temperature (°C) 350 ≤550
Building-up method 6-layers 6-passes 4-layers 4-passes
In the case of 40mm plate thickness (250mm wide)

Heat input (kJ/cm) 40 40~70
Inter-pass temperature (°C) 350 ≤550
Building-up method 8-layers 11-passes 7-layers 8-passes

Feature 4. Excellent welding quality
Though high heat input and high inter-pass temperature are applied, the welded joint using EzWELD Steel Plates and EzWELD Wires shows excellent mechanical properties better than when conventional steel and welding conditions are applied.
