| In general, offshore structures are built to drill for oil and natural gas from natural deep-sea resource deposits. Though there are various structural types, we supply steel plates for all structures. Recently, we supplied a large amount of steel plates for Shell TLPs (tension leg platforms).  Re-drawn form Offshore, October 1998 As offshore structures must endure the deep-sea ocean currents, waves and wind for a long time, materials for such structures are required to ensure greater safety from failure. We are ready to provide steel plates of various strength grades that have passed material approval tests stipulated by API, British Standards Institution and/or European Standard. The following diagram compares Charpy transition curve of steel plates for critical components of offshore structures with that of steel plates for ships or LNG tanks, which illustrates its superior toughness to ship steels. We deliver these tough steel plates in a short time to customers.  |
