In the intensifying competition between the railway service and other means of transportation, it is important to differentiate by providing better services as well as to reduce cost through reduced maintenance. To comply with these requirements, we have led the competition in marketing our products that incorporate control technology based on our extensive bogie design and manufacturing technologies. We can offer a superb system that assures a drastic improvement in ride comfort, an earlier arrival time and easy maintenance which are difficult to realize using conventional bogie design.

Features
[ Active suspension system ]

This system reduces the amount of swaying of the railway cars by 50% compared with conventional cars. This was the first product of its kind worldwide, which we marketed and has been incorporated into first-class trains such as the Shinkansen bullet trains and express trains. In this system, any sensed car body swaying movement is immediately compensated by the actuators located between the car body and bogies. However, we can also apply additional tuning through this system, just enough for each car and rail line, providing passengers with the required comfortable ride.

[ Pneumatic Spring Tilting System ]

This system can enhance the train curving speed by 10 to 15 km/h, which may result in a much earlier train arrival time. The mechanism of this system is explained in that the air spring installed on the bogie is inflated or deflated to tilt the car body, just in the same way that the motorcycle riders incline his/her body when cornering, to pass through curves smoothly. This system gives the bogie a far more simple construction than the Pendulum system car body, and results in easier maintainability.

[ Condition monitoring system ]

This system has a function to provide data which can be used to help locate the source of any abnormal car vibration and to manage ride comfort. For instance, it constantly looks out for any occurrence of a "hunting" which directly affects running safety. At the same time, it has a function to record all data related to car vibration and ride comfort to assist in the inspection and maintenance of the cars. This is realized through a simple mechanism consisting of only accelerometers and signal processing equipment.
