These products are manufactured by Kantoku Co., Ltd who inherited the business from Kanto Special Steelworks, Ltd., a manufacturer with more than 60-years of experience specialized in manufacturing mill rolls, and are sold by Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd.

Our current major products are mill rolls for steel sheets and we manufacture rolls for both hot rolling and cold rolling. In addition, we can provide many different types of steel rolls for various kinds of rolling process. Backed up by our wealth of experience, we can meet our customers' requirements in corporation with our research and development, manufacturing, technical service and sales groups.

Our products have always been of world-class quality. Our high-speed mill rolls, which have superb anti-burning characteristics thanks to the adequate control of high-chrome carbide substances, and the CPI rolls, which can reduce cost while still maintaining the same high quality level, are highly appreciated by our customers.

Features

[ Hardened forged steel roll ]

Standard work roll

CPI roll:	The cost has been reduced to a minimum through our process improvements with the same rolling performance as the traditional 5Cr standard type. Hardened depth 60 type.
CPI-SD roll:	The hardened depth is increased to 80 on the basis of CPI roll.

High performance work roll

CGL roll:	Prevention of spalling caused by hydrogen embrittlement.
Scratchless roll:	Uniformity of ground surface roughness and good grindablility.
High-speed mill roll:	By controlling distribution pattern of carbide substances, the frequency of burning under high-speed and high-pressure rolling is decreased.
High toughness semi high-speed tool steel:	Suitable for various manufacturing applications such as high abrasion-resistance, good defect-prevention performance and good grindability.

	High performance intermediate roll
	Abrasion-resistant hot dies intermediate roll, abrasion-resistant high chrome intermediate roll.

	Base strengthened back up roll
	By improving the hardening process and adjusting the alloy components, the anti-destruction toughness of the forged steel backup roll is significantly improved.
