Sumitomo Metals has developed a coated steel sheet with heat dissipating performance that is close to the theoretical limit. This material has been adopted by Panasonic because it is much thinner than the conventional aluminum material while retaining the necessary heat dissipating performance, and yields a large decrease in the amount of CO2 emitted during the manufacturing process.
